Thomas Ward was born on June 10th 1800 in Lincolnshire, Cheshire County England. When Thomas was seventeen his family moved to the United States for a better life. They first settled in Pottsville PA, before settling in Big Island Marion County. Thomas married Jane Fulton on Nov. 1, 1827. Thomas and Jane had two still born children and were not able to have children of their own. After 22 years of marriage Jane dies at the young age of 39. Thomas married a widow by the name of Matilda Baker. They would have two daughters
