Caroline was born in 1919, Berkeley, CA, youngest of five children of Charles Edgar Nosler and Mabel Electa Covington.

She met her husband, Tom Holcomb, who preceded her in death in 1981, while they both worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in San Francisco. Following their marriage in 1940, they spent the next 30 years stationed around the world with the United States Air Force where Tom served first as a navigator, and then as a B-52 pilot. Whether it was in Monroe, LA or Atwater, CA, Hoffheim, Germany or Fukuoka, Japan, Caroline always provided a warm, loving, and secure home for her family.

She passed at home with her family around her at age 84. Caroline will long be remembered as producing the finest of meals with her exceptional cooking skills, and everyone knew the kitchen was always open. Caroline also gave selflessly to her community, her church, the PTA, spent over 23 years as a Red Cross volunteer.

Katherine Ann "Kassie" Nosler (Rutherford), 1908 – 1996
