Mrs. Anna Hewitt, known to most of her acquaintances as "Grandma Hewitt," died Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Falls Creek, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.J. Leahy. The old lady, who was the widow of Thomas Hewitt, who spent a long life in the vicinity of Penfield, was in her eighty-second year. She had left the homestead, just east of Penfield, to spend some of her last days with her daughter, seeing a generation succeeding her own grow up in the valley and enter the autumn season of her life.

The sons surviving are Thomas and Charles, of Penfield, and the daughters are Mrs. Leahy and Mrs. W.J. King, the latter of Indiana, Pa. Earl Hewitt, formerly a known DuBois boy, is a grandson and Edward Washburn of Sabula is a brother.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the M.E. church, Rev. F.C. Buyers, officiating. Directors Flegal & Weber, of DuBois. Interment in Hewitt cemetery.
