PERISHED IN THE STORM

A most unfortunate affair occurred near Glenrock early last week. A 11-year-old son of Silas Mortimore left Todd's Sawmill in Bat Canyon, for his home on Deer Creek about 1 p.m. on Sunday. He was riding one horse and leading the other. A blinding snow storm set in soon after he left the mill, and the little fellow was never seen alive again. Everybody in that section of country turned out the next day to search for the boy, and his body was finally found late Wednesday afternoon, about a half mile from Tom King's ranch. His horse had perished--laid down and died, on open ground. The boy had attempted to take the saddle off, but could not get the cinches from under the animal. He had walked a short distance, sat down and fell asleep, to wake no more. The boy was a bright, pleasant lad, and his death is sincerely regretted by all who knew him. Mr. and Mrs. Mortimore have the sympathy of everyone in this, their hour of sorrow.
