Bartelme's Observe Silver Anniversary, Friends Entertained
Friends Celebrating their silver wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bartelme, 716 South 18th street, entertained at
open house Tuesday evening. Their home was filled with flowers sent as tokens of friendship on their anniversary.
Mr. Bartelme, alderman from the Fifth ward, and Mrs. Bartelme have made Manitowoc their home since their wedding at the St. Boniface rectory Jan. 23, 1909. Before
her marriage, Mrs. Bartelme was Miss Lillian Wegforth.
Cards were played by the friends who called at their home last evening,and honors were awarded to Russel Liehert, high, and John Bartelme, consolation. In the afternoon,
members of the Ladies Aid society of the St. John Evangelical church entertained at a surprise party at the Bartelme home. Arrangements were made by Mrs.Charles Liebert.
There are 11 children in the Bartelme family, Harold, Catherine, Ethel, Russell, Gordon, Michael, Glen, Betty Jane, Marilyn, Jackie and Carol Mae.
LILLIAN BARTELME

Mrs. Lillian Bartelme, 71, of 716 S. 18th St., Mantiwooc, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Bartelme, nee Wegforth, was born Jan. 4, 1889, at Brillion, daughter of the late Henry and Kathryn Luecker Wegforth. She attended Brillion schools, coming to Manitowoc in 1906. She was married to Michael Bartelme Jan. 23, 1909. He died in 1948. He was a steamfitter and plumber. Mrs. Bartelme was a member of St. John Church and the sewing Circle of the church. She was a past vice president of the Women's Guild of the church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Richardt, Miss Ethel Bartelme, Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Leannah, Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Ostreich and Mrs. Clarice (Carol) Carey of Manitowoc; six sons, Harold, Gordon, Michael, Glenn and Robert of Manitowoc and Jack of Watertown; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Franta of Lyons, Ill.; two brothers, Henry and Clements of Manitowoc; 23 grandchildren and two great
grandchildren. Four sons, two daughters, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 11 a.m. Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
