Betty J. Leannah, age 74, of the Villages of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, November 4, 1999, at Leesburg Region Medical Center, Leesburg, Fla.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Ronald Reimer with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Betty was born April 6, 1925, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Michael and Lillian Wegorth Bartelme. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1943. On June 9, 1951, she married Kenneth J. Leannah, in Kewaunee. He preceded her in detah October 9, 1988. Betty was employed with Manitowoc Engineering Co. for 12 years, and was also employed with Home Care Health Services of Manitowoc. She was a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Leannah, Ocala, Fla.; one grandson, Kelley Leannah, Ocala, Fla.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Bob Richardt, Manitowoc, Ethel Bartelme, Manitowoc, Marilyn Oesterich, Fond du Lac, Carol and Clarice Carey, Manitowoc; four brothers and five sisters-in-law, Gordon and Lorraine Bartelme, Manitowoc, Glenn and Gerry Bartelme, Manitowoc, Jack and Avis Bartelme, Oconomowoc, Robert and JoAnne Bartelme, Manitowoc, and Helen Bartelme, Manitowoc. She is also survived on her husband’s side by seven sisters-in-law. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive, including the seven active pallbearers, Kelley, Leannah, Glenn Bartelme Jr., John Bartelme, Steve Ostreich, Tommy Bartelme, Dan Bartelme and Marcus Bartelme. She was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters, one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Alan Boeldt.
