E. F. CANADAY BIRMINGHAM, DIED SATURDAY
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 pm.
Funeral services for Emsley F. Canaday, well known Birmingham resident, were held at 2:00 pm today at the Methodist church in Birmingham in charge of Jay Waterman of Cantril. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery northeast of Birmingham.
Mr. Canaday passed away at his home in Birmingham on Saturday, July 25. He was 81 years six months and 17 days old at the time of his death.
He was born near Glasgow on January 8, 1861. He had lived in Jefferson and Van Buren all his life and was engaged in farming until recent years when he retired.
He married Miss Carrie Giberson on June 3, 1883. She preceded him in death June 9, 1938. To them 14 chidren were born, nine of which survive. They are Mrs Cecil Manning, Elmer and Albert Canaday, all of Birmingham; Mrs Bessie Hootman, Floris; Fred Canaday, Selma; Mrs Ella Popejoy, Pleasant Plain; Mrs Gladys Dyer and Blanche Coil, Columbus Junction. Also surviving 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grand children.
Mr CANADAY married Mrs Maggie LEEPER October 18 1939 who also survives.
