Popejoy funeral Friday

PLEASANT PLAIN-Ella Popejoy,89, died Tuesday April 5, 1988 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfied where she had been a resident since Oct 1978.

She was born Feb. 27, 1889 in Cedar Township near Birminham, the daughter of Emsley and Carrie Giberson Canaday. She was married to Bernard Mathias Popejoy June 18, 1919, in Fairfield.

She was a farm wife and moved to the Pleasant Plain area in 1930. Her husband died July 14, 1969. She was a member of the Pleasant Plain Friends Church.

Surviving are two sons Jack and Bill of Pleasant Plain; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by all five brothers and eight sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Gould funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. Rick Talbot officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.

Visitation well begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Parkview Care Center.
