Birth name Cecelia Dreiling. She attended parochial schools in Victoria, Kansas. At the age of fourteen, 29th March, 1911, she entered the Convent of the Sistrs of Saint Agnes. On 15th August, 1915, she made her religious profession.

Sister attended the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee and then transferred to Kansas State College at Hays, Kansas for further study. She earned her B.S. in music in 1928.

She taught music, did choir work and organ playing in various places including Ohio, New York City, Hays, Kansas and Fond du Lac, WI.
