Frank J. A. Dreiling, 83, 606 E. 16th, died Sunday night at St. Anthony Hospital.

Born August 14, 1893 in Victoria, he was city clerk and water commissioner there for 35 years. He was church organist in Victoria and Schoenchen for 52 years. He served as county assessor for several years after moving to Hays. He was a charter member of the 3rd and 4th degrees of Knights of Columbus, Victoria.

He is survived by his wife, Basilia of the home; six sons, Gerard, Elmer, Linus, Verlin, and Marvin, all of Hays, Norman, Denver, Colorado; five daughters, Mrs. Edna Wagner, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Mrs. Lorraine McCormack, Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Luella Munk, Hays, Mrs. Alvera Pfannenstiel, Hays, Mrs. Elgreine Weisgerber, Arvada, Colo.; 34 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob, Larned, Clem, Detroit, Michigan, Louis, Denver; six sisters, Miss Salomea Dreiling, Mrs. Ambrose Brungardt, Mrs. Peter A. Rome, Mrs. A. M. Ridpath, all of Victoria, Sister Felicitas, Fond du Lac, Wisc., Mrs. Luke Penka, Larned.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. A joint K of C and parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brock’s North Hill Chapel. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
