Funeral services for Rosie E. Charanza, 85, of Needville, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Funeral Home, 9302 Church St. in Needville Father James Ramsey will officiate the services.

Rosie E. Charanza was born April 20, 1908 in Czechoslovakia. She died March 20 in Richmond. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Charanza; her parents, John and Anna Borecky; sons, Paul and Frank Charanza; a brother, Joe Borecky; and sisters, Mary Krenek and Stevie Raska.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann Hurta of Richmond and Lillie Mae Witek of Beasley; sons, Simon Charanza Sr. and wife, Clara, of Needville, and Edward Charanza and wife, Sharon, of Needville; daughters-in-law, Margaret Charanza of Needville and Pam Rowe of Porter; a sister, Carrie Bender of Hungerford; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Simon Charanza Jr., Dean Hurta, Larry Witek, Patrick Charanza, Anthony Charanza, Raymond Witek Jr., and Frank Charanza Jr.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Funeral Home in Needville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Needville.
