William Henry Brauda, 85, a resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Friday 4/6/12 in the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.

Henry was a native of Hortense, Georgia and had been a resident of Brunswick since 1985 coming from St. Mary's, Georgia. He was retired from Babcock & Wilcox in Brunswick and was employed with the J.A. Jones Shipyard during W.W. II.

Henry was a member of the College Place United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and the Tuesday Prayer Group. Henry was a former deacon and long time Sunday school teacher of the Satilla Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher at St. Mary's United Methodist Church.

Henry was a humble servant of God, and was a loving husband, father, and a friend to all he met. He will truly be missed.

Henry is preceded in death by his first Wife of 39 years, Lily Mae Rowell Brauda, his parents, Wallace and Alma Brauda and two brothers, Norman Brauda and Leon Brauda.
Survivors are his wife, Jane Crosby Brauda of Brunswick, children, Charles Brauda (Wanda), Margie Manning (Joey) and Esther Townsend (Donnie) all of Hotense, Ga., Martha Strayer (Bobby), Janice Maxwell both of Brunswick, Teddy Howard (Faye) of St. Mary's, and Belinda Howard-Biddle (Don) of Jacksonville, Fl., grandchildren, Wade Townsend (Becky), Jonathan Brauda (Laura) and Andrew Brauda (M'Lissa), Tommy Townsend (Susan) all of Hortense, Ga., Aletra Holland (James) of Guyton, Ga., Lori Willis (Kevin), Robby Strayer, Leslie Nelson (Travis) all of Brunswick, Ashley Maxwell of Commerce, Ga., Seth Howard (Rebecca) of Clarksville, Ga., Adam Howard of St. Mary's, Rebekah Howard Cobb (Brannon), of St. Mary's Ga., and Cory Howard -Biddle of Jacksonville, Fl., two sisters, Mattie Sackman of Cheyenne, WY., and Barbara Ann Bennett of Jacksonville, Fl., a brother, Claude Brauda (Billie Sue) of Hortense, Ga., a half sister, Vera Jackson of Callahan, FL., two sister-in-law, Dorothy Moody (Joe) and Elaine Brauda both of Hortense, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, 04/10/12 in the College Place United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Grotheer and Chaplain Pat McCord officiating.

Interment will follow at 4 PM, Tuesday in the Satilla Cemetery in Hortense, Ga.

Active pallbearers will be: Wade Townsend, Jonathan Brauda, Andrew Brauda, Tommy Townsend, Robby Strayer, Seth Howard, Adam Howard, Cory Howard-Biddle and Justin Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be: The Fellowship Sunday School Class and Tuesday Prayer Group of College Place United Methodist Church, and the staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles.

The family will receive friends in the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, 04/9/12. The family request those wishing may make contributions to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Ga., 31525.
