Annie Pearl Bishop, went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, April 7, 2012. Annie was disappointed to learn that she was not going to be able to become a missionary early in life; however, God had another plan for her. He needed her to spread his word in her own community, which she has done her entire life.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Viola Bishop; sisters, Virginia Wilkerson, Fannie Bishop, Ruth Hoitt; and brothers, William, Roy, Melvin, Earl and Kenneth Bishop.
She is survived by her sister, Olene Ragland, of Christiansburg; brothers, Keel Austin Bishop, of Dillwyn, Dean Bishop, of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Village at Stratford Hall for their caring and support during the past four years and to the loving care bestowed by the doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital as Annie made her final journey.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
