She was born Nov. 16, 1914 in Wayne County to William S. and Blanche Withrow McClain. She married Andrew R. Sommer on Dec. 19, 1939 in Paxton. He died March 22, 1993. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are a son, James Sommer; a daughter, Janet (Bob) Glascock; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Puffer.
Wilma graduated from Drummer Township High School in 1934. She worked at Loy's in Gibson City for 27 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gibson City and served as secretary and was a Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout, Cub Scout and Brownie leader and was a member of the Gibson City Women's Club and the Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary.
