William married Blanche Withrow 1/12/1904 in Wayne County, Illinois. He was the son of Jacob McClain and Louisa Funstas (per marriage record in Wayne County). From census records it appears that they had the following children: Beulah, Walter, Sherman, Minnie, Wilma, Mary, Ruby, Elsie, Orville, Donald and Ruth.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday For William McClain

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Brown Funeral Home in Paxton for William S. McClain, 77, who passed away at his farm home nine miles southwest of Paxton Sunday afternoon.
The Rev. Harold Zehr, pastor of the East Ben Mennonite church of Fisher officiated at the services and interment was in Glen cemetery, Paxton.

Charles E. Benson, Harry Johnson, George Burton, Irwin Albrecht, Howard Cook and Junior Cook were the pallbearers. Mrs. Harry Johnson, Mrs. George Burton, Mrs. Bertha Good and Mrs. tom Fields were in charge of the flowers.

A quartet, made up of Arthur Good, Ray Good, Joseph Good and Ivan Good, sang at the services.
