C. Morgan Diggs, 96 died Sunday Feb. 22, 2004 in Riverside Regional Convalescent Center, Mathews. He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Wilbur C. Diggs; his wife, Bessie F. Diggs; two sisters, Edith Brooks and Ethelyn Burroughs; two grandchildren, Becky C. Jones and Stewart Crittenden, and great grandson Matthew Crittenden. He was a member of Peniel Friends Church. He is survived by two daughters, Jean and Ken Smith of Schley; Joyce and William Callis of Hudgins; two sons, Harold and Marilyn Diggs of Richmond and Hudgins; James Calvin and Sandy Diggs of Mathews; 13 grandchildren, Debbie Zanca, Karen Soles, Connie Field, Kathy Skurupey, David and Charlie Crittenden, Bobby Callis, Todd Diggs, Lisa Rakes, Elizabeth Nicholas, Greg, Michael and Jonathan Diggs; 16 great grandchildren, and one sister, Inez Callis of Mathews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today Feb. 24, 2004 in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews with burial to follow in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
