Harold Morgan Diggs, 87, of North Chesterfield, formerly of Mathews County, passed suddenly on December 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Bessie Diggs; sister, Jean Smith, two nieces, one nephew and one great-nephew. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Wood Diggs; children, Todd Diggs (Dan), Lisa Rakes (Danny) and Elizabeth Diggs; grandchildren, Logan and Cole Rakes, and Halee Shepperson; sister, Joyce Callis (William); brother, James Diggs (Sandy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Diggs proudly served in the US Army. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad, formerly Overnight Transportation Company with 39 years of service. His family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Providence United Methodist Church, 901 S. Providence Rd., where a funeral ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the church.
