SHANER, Walter, 90, of Tampa, passed away April 3, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Virginia "Jennie"; son, Scott (Jennifer) Shaner; daughters, Barbara (Murray) Shaner, Joan Shaner; four step-daughters; sisters, Katherine Thomas, Leora Heckthorne; grandchildren, Charles Lindberg, Laurel Lindberg; and a great-granddaughter, Aria Lindberg. Walter was a life member of the American Legion post #139 and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Interbay Tampa Chapter 1254. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa. Funeral service will be held 10am, Friday, April 13, 2012 at the funeral home with a burial with military honors to follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
