Gladys E. Schnorr, 78, of RFD 1 died Thursday at Rumford Hospital, Rumford. She was the wife of Edward H. Schnorr.

Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Leon A. and Jennie I. (Pratt) Bailey, she lived in Maine since 1948.

Mrs. Schnorr was credit manager at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, and before that at Woonsocket Hospital before retiring in 1948. She and her husband operated the Valley Motor Court on Route 2 from 1948 to 1971. She was a graduate of the former School of Commercial Sciences, later the Hill Business College, Woonsocket, and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Woonsocket and Dixfield. She was a juvenile state deputy of the Maine State Grange for eight years, and held various offices in the Subordinate and Pomona Granges in Rhode Island and Maine.

Besides her husband she leaves six sisters, Mrs. Iris Willette, Mrs. Dona Reed and Mrs. Thelma Steffancci, all of Woonsocket, Mrs. Marion Marcet of Warwick, Mrs. Virginia Blanchette of Westerly and Mrs. Shirley Kenney of Pensacola, Fla.

A graveside service will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Slatersville Cemetery, North Smithfield.
