William Alexander, the auto parts manager at the former Roberts Motors in Taunton died Saturday Jul 17, 1999 at the St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT after a short illness. He was 79. He was the husband of the late Bernadine (Conaty) Alexander. He was born in Scotland to the late James and Agnes (McKinnon) Alexander. He graduated from Pawtucket Senior High School in 1938. He served in the US Army Air Corps in WWII. He belonged to St. Mary's Church in Taunton. He is survived by one brother, James Alexander Jr. of Kissimmee, FL; his brother-in-law Robert and Dorothy LaChance of Taunton; three nephews, Mark LaChance and Stephen LaChance both of Taunton, and Peter N. LaChance of North Attleboro; two nieces, Debora Bessette of New York and Susanne Patnaude of Taunton, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
