Bernardine (Conaty) Alexander, 72, died Wednesday at Longmeadow Nursing Home following a long illness. She was the wife of William Alexander. She retired after working from 1951 to 1971 as a personnel officer for the US Navy Underwater Sound Lab. She was later employed as a clerk at Robertson Factories from 1972 to 1982. She attended St. Mary's Church. Educated at St. Mary's Grammar and High Schools, she was a graduate from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee. Daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Mahoney) Conaty, she was born in Taunton where she resided most of her life. Surviving in addition to her husband are a sister, Mrs. Robert G. (Dorothy A.) Lachance of Taunton and several nephews and nieces.
