Mary Gray was born October 8,1719 in Tiverton,Newport County,Rhode Island,the daughter to,Edward Gray III (1693-1722)and Rebecca Cory(1695-1750).Mary Gray's great grandfather was,Edward Gray I of Plymouth Colony.Edward I, was a large landowner,Merchant,Surveyor of Highways and Grand Juryman, in Plymouth Colony.He had Immigrated to America in 1642 with his brother,Thomas Gray on the ship "Recovery" out of London.Edward Gray I ,became the wealthiest man in the Plymouth Colony.Edward's grave at "Burial Hill" cemetery in Plymouth is the only remaining headstone left from the original Pilgrims.

Mary Gray was the second born of four siblings.Mary's siblings were as follows..

Mary Gray married, Gamaliel Kelsey (1714-1793)on Jan 11,1738 in Saybrook,CT.Gamaliel was the son of,William Kelsey(1674-1718)and Elizabeth Sheather(1679-1727).Mary Gray and her husband Gamaliel Kelsey had the following eight children all born in Saybrook,CT...

Mary Gray Kelsey is buried next to her husband,Gamaliel Kelsey.Her grave,pictured here,is marked by flower pedal that mysteriously appeared the day I traveled all the way from Vermont specifically hoping to find her grave .I believe that because her inscription had weathered to the point that it is hard to read that Mary's spirit left the pedal to indicate that this was indeed her grave stone.
