Daughter of Andrew and Stacy (Coslet) Johnson.

Wife of Frank Waugh.

Mother of Edward, Glenn, William and Edna Samilson.

After her husband Frank died young, Matie washed clothes on a scrubboard for $.50 a day in people's homes. Later Matie worked in the Chesterton China factory carrying plates to and from the ovens 10-12 hours a day for $.50. She also worked at the Kingsly Shirt factory in Chesterton.

Mabel was the daughter of Chesley and Mary Jordan. She raised in Virginia.

She was married three times. First to Thomas A Hood, he was shot in a feud c1886.

Mabel was in vaudeville which brought her to Chesterton, IN. Married next to Dr E A Corey. They lived in the old Central Hotel (it burned down in 1908). He died in 1895.

Next she married Ed Kleinman in 1905 in Chicago. He died in 1925.

She had one child: Elizabeth Marvin (of Chicago in 1958).
