Miss Grace L Shoemaker, 80, formerly of 1521 Franklin, died at 9:35 PM Monday in Bowles nursing home at Clark’s Hill where she had been a resident during a two-year illness. A native of Tippecanoe county, she was a graduate of the Chicago Conservatory of Music and was a retired music teacher and artist. She had lived at Lafayette for more than 10 years after coming here from her home north of Stockwell. The Dickerson funeral home, Stockwell, in charge of services. Rev Joseph F Newton officiating. Interment in concord cemetery. A nephew, Albert Shoemaker of R#11, and a niece, Mrs Harlan Friemehner of Hamilton, Ohio, survive. (Lafayette Indiana Newspaper, Tuesday December 17, 1957)
