Clifton W Shoemaker, a prominent farmer and stock feeder three miles northwest of Stockwell, died at 10:30 o'clock Friday night at St Elizabeth hospital. Death was due to diabetes, and he had been bedfast for six weeks. The deceased was the son of Silas and Harriet Wall Shoemaker, and was born February 5, 1882, on the farm where he resided. He attended Purdue university for a time and then went to farming with his father. He was always active in farm and stock breeding activities. He was a member of the M. E. Church and the Masonic lodge at Stockwell. In 1909 he was married to Lulu M Hurdle, who died in 1914. A son, Albert M., was born to this union.
