Funeral services were held Monday, September 19, Lacock Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Walter William Reimers was born June 3, 1897, in Davenport, the son of Wilhelm and Sophia (Wuestenberg) Reimers. His mother died when he was two years old and was then raised by his father and step-mother, Dora Reimers. He received his education in the Scott County schools. He married Edith Alice Frick on November 13, 1918, in Worthington, Minnesota. They were the parents of William, Arnold, Harold, Kenneth, Wilma and Howard. Walter and Edith were later divorced.

Surviving are one daughter, Wilma (Lawrence) Johannsen; four sons, William, Harold, Kenneth (Pauline) Reimers and Howard Reimers; two grandsons; one brother, Raymond Reimers; one brother-in-law, Charles Bailey; three half sisters, Hertha Griebel, Minnie Peters and Leona Loppentien; and four half brothers, Albert (Ethel) Reimers, Harry (Eleanor) Reimers, Rudolph Reimers and Hugo Reimers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, one son, Arnold Reimers, one granddaughter, Sharon Reimers, one sister, Theresa Bailey, two brothers, Otto and Franzisko Reimers, one sister-in-law, Dorothy Reimers and one half brother, George Reimers.
