INJURY FATAL TO VERDI MAN

Alexander Amiotte, for many years a resident of Verdi, where he followed the shoemaker's trade, died at a Reno hospital late yesterday afternoon as a result of injuries suffered Saturday afternoon, when he was struck by a Southern Pacific train at Verdi. He was seventy two years of age.

His vision was poor, friends said today, and apparently did not see the train. His arm was crushed to the shoulder and he was too old to withstand the shock of amputation.

He was a native of Montreal and had lived in the United States forty-two years, most of his time being spent either at Carson or Verdi, he will be buried Thursday afternoon from the Baptist church at Verdi, Interment to take place at Crystal Peak Cemetery.
