Marjory A. Van Buskirk Sorensen Nelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor, a former resident of Tooele, passed away at Johanna's Nursing Home, May 13, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah due to complications with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born June 18, 1907, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Arthur and Azilphia Reed Van Buskirk. She married Ivan Leonard Sorensen, September 8, 1928. He passed away February 5, 1942. Married Francis H. Nelson, May 24, 1943, he passed away in January 23, 1989.Survived by sons, Leonard Sorensen (Donna), Salt Lake City, Utah; Cecil Nelson (Judee), Tooele, Utah; daughters, Yonia Sorensen Hunt (Dean), Tooele, Utah; Nancy Nelson Hoksbergen (Louie) Warden, Washington; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Myra Heaps and Mildred Glazier.
She loved children, doing for her family and friends, giving numerous gifts of crocheting. Loved singing, whistling, dancing, listening to music, gardening, going on trips and going up into the mountains. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Betty Sorensen Coulter; brothers, Mahlon, Arthur and Morris; sisters, Myrtle and Marva; one grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 1995, 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main, Tooele, Utah. Family and friends may attend one hour prior to services. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
