She was born, June 1, 1923 in Rockbridge County, daughter of the late Hoyed Worth and Edith Camper Chittum.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene of Madison Heights.
She had worked as a weaver for James Lees Carpets and as a nurse's aide at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Rader Mathias Ogden, Sr.; brothers, Melvin Chittum and Walda Chittum and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Myra Reginia Ogden Van Vorst and husband, Russell of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and Charlotte Kathy Ogden of Amherst; sons, Rev. Stanley Preston Ogden and wife Sheila of Amherst and Rev. Rader Mathias Ogden, Jr. and wife Robin of Staunton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Camper of Troutville, Irene Semevolos of Buena Vista and Patricia Keefe of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brothers, Bill Chittum of Vesuvius and Linwood Chittum of Lexington.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rader M. Ogden, Jr. and Rev. Stanley P. Ogden officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 2, 2006 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Lomax Funeral Home.
