Ancestry.com had a number of records for a William Garber with these birth and death dates. According to a record for an application to the D.A.R. from one of his descendents, he was the son of Jonathan Garber and Elizabeth Hufford. I received an edit request in April of 2020 that provided links to Jonathan Garber and Elizabeth Hoffert, which tend to support the Ancestry family tree.

On the 1850 census he was living in West Bethlehem, Washington, Pennsylvania with wife Elizabeth Weaver (1803-1858), the daughter of Peter (1779-1840) and Pleasant Bout (1782-1835) who married in 1802. William and Elizabeth married in 1820. I found six children for them--Pleasant "Plesse" (b.1826) who was named after her maternal grandmother (1782-1835), Cynthia (1828-1877), William (b.1835), Isabell (b.1838), Simon(b.1840) and Silas (b.1843).

Daughter Cynthia married Elisha Iames and the couple gave William nine grandchildren--Elizabeth (b.1849), Delila "Lily" (b.1850), Demas (b.1851), Mary (b.1854), William (b.1855), Margaret (b.1858), Anabell (b.1860), Lucy (b.1863) and Clara, born in 1868, the same year that her grandfather William died. Cynthia's brother William Jr. was living with her family on the 1860 census in Pennsylvania. It was a descendent of Cynthia's that submitted the application to the D.A.R.

After wife Elizabeth's death in 1858, William must have come to Indiana where I found him on the 1860 census living in Perry, Miami Co., Indiana, a town located more than an hour to the south-east of Plymouth where he is buried. I could not find the connection that brought him to this area.
