Lucy was the daughter of Randolph Cheshire and his wife Mary Dunham. Randolph is the only Cheshire who had girls born in the time frame of her birth. Ruth her younger sister married Owen Carroll.

About 1827 Lucy became the bride of Nathaniel Graves. This union was blessed with Mordecai, John F, Sampson, Nathan Randall, Lydia Cheshire, Mary A Rowan, Simon L and Anthony Fleming Graves.

They appear in 1850, 1860 and 1870 in Robeson/Bladen censuses. Their death before 1880.

It is not certain when/where they died and are buried. This memorial is to honor their lives as our oldest known Graves ancestors and to link them all together as a family.

Rest in peace til we meet at that great homecoming in the sky.
