Brenda K. Ackman,67,of Winchester,passed away on Saturday,March 17,2012 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
She was born Feb. 13,1945 in Union City,IN to George Robert and Johanna Louise (Vail) Platt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge. Brenda enjoyed crocheting,knitting and camping. She also loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include three children,a son,Rick (wife Carman) Ackman of Winchester,a daughter, Penny (husband Shawn) Curtner of Union City,OH, a son,Bill Ackman (Kathy Hollon) of Winchester; 16 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren;a brother,Harold Leroy (wife Ramona)Platt of Winchester;and two nieces,Leeann Platt of Centerville and Gretchen Platt of Alabama.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 32 years,William Ackman Jr. in 1994.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday,March 20,2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
