The son of Samuel O. Adams and his wife, Laura. Both Sam and William listed their occupation on the 1900 US Federal Census as tinners. They lived at 621 Edwards Street in Shreveport, Louisiana.

On the 1880 US Federal Census for Shreveport, Samuel's occupation was saloon proprietor and William was listed as Willie.

Funeral services for W. E. Adams, 64, of 621 Edwards street, who died Saturday afternoon at his home, were held at 4 p.m. yesterday at the residence. The Rev. Wade H. Boggs, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate.

Burial was in Oakland cemetery under direction of McCook Brothers funeral home.

Mr. Adams was a member of a pioneer Shreveport family. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Laurie Adams, and a sister.
