She was born April 1, 1924, in Rhinelander, the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Baker) Johnson. She married Harry Adamski on April 26, 1947, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. He died Nov. 21, 1994.
Hazel was a devoted wife and mother. She had a heart so big it extended to all the children she took care of for 40+ years. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, and also loved to cook and bake. Her bread and pancakes were the best ever. She will now take orders in heaven for what was heaven on earth to us.
"May God bless you Mom. We hope you now find the peace and happiness that you deserve. We will forever love the color purple just for you — except for the "Vikings." You are now free to dance the night away! We will love you always."
Survivors include her five children, Richard (Gale) Adamski, Rapid City, S.D., Robert Adamski, Simpsonville, S.C., Rosemary Schulz, Mosinee, Roxanne (Les) Reed, Pound, and Randall (Heidi) Adamski, Hatley; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Cherney, Weston; and sisters-in-law, Glenwyn and Dorothy Johnson, Mosinee.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Martin, William and Otto; a sister, Elberta Britten; a son-in-law, Glenn Schulz; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan Adamski.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
