Reevesville - Funeral services for David W. Dukes, 88, of 1021 Flatwoods Road, Reevesville, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville with the Rev. Jason Altman officiating. Burial will be at Rigby Cemetery near Bowman. Mr. Dukes died Tuesday, June 28. He was born in Rowesville, a son of the late Charles W. Dukes and Olivia Metts Dukes. He was the widower of Loydis Myers Dukes. He was retired from the Naval Ammunition Depot in Charleston and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a lifelong resident of the community. Survivors include three sons, David Wesley Dukes Jr. of Cary, N.C., Billy Wayne Dukes and Gussie Robert Dukes, both of Reevesville; one brother, Henry Dukes of Orangeburg; two sisters, Mrs. Louella Beasley of Del. and Mrs. Vernon Farmer of Orangeburg; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
