MRS. BESSIE RAINWATER
Funeral services for former Bastrop resident, Mrs. Bessie R. Rainwater, age 65, of Shreveport, were set for today at 2 pm in the chapel of the First National Funeral Home here with Rev. W. T. Murry officiating. Interment will be in the Mer Rouge Cemetery. Mrs. Rainwater died in a Shreveport hospital Friday following a lengthy illness.

Miss Bessie is survived by her husband:
William M. Rainwater of Shreveport
Her son:
Edward L. Rainwater with the U. S. NAVY in California
Her four daughters:
Mrs. Vergie Faye Rainwater Bowe of Mer Rouge
Mrs. Michele Buffington of Shreveport
Mrs. Jean Buffinton of Shreveport
Mrs. Glidie Mobley of Canada

Her three brothers:
H. E. Reid of Brookhaven, Mississippi
L. E. Reid of Jackson, Mississippi

Her three sisters:
Mrs. Lizzie Hampton of Hammond, Louisiana
Mrs. Ella Wiley of Los Banos, California
Mrs. J. K. Wilson of Vicksburg, Mississippi
Twenty (20) grandchildren

Friends in the area extend sympathy to Mr. Monroe Rainwater, Mr. & Mrs. Allen Buffington and family, and Mrs. Guy Buffington and children in Shreveport. Also to, Mrs. Edward Rainwater in California and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Bowe and family in Mer Rouge on the death of their wife, and mother, Mrs. Bessie Reid Rainwater. Mrs. Rainwater died in a Shreveport hospital on Friday evening. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon in the chapel of the First National Funeral Home in Bastrop with the Rev. W. T. Murry officiating. Interment was in the Mer Rouge Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Rainwater were residents of Bastrop and resided on the Cut-Off Road until a few years ago when they moved to Shreveport because of Miss Bessie's health.
