Rebecca Summers Buried Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca E. Summers, age 65 years, were conducted at the Methodist Church, at p.m., Saturday, with the Rev. D. L. Toussaint conducting the rites. Interment was in Goodwill Cemetery, with the Miller Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Summers was born in Orange County on February 25, 1889, the daughter of Hickman and Sarah (King) Carroll. She passed away at 7:25 a.m., Thursday, in the home of her son, Carroll Summers, in Indianapolis. Death came to Mrs. Summers on her 65th birthday. She had been ill for four months.

Her husband, John Ernest Summers, died in 1939. They were residents of Loogootee for many years.

Mrs. Summers is survived by two sons, Carroll, of Indianapolis, and Norbert H. Summers, of Wayne, Mich. There are also five grandchildren, one great grandchild, four brothers and one sister. They are William H. Carroll, of Loogootee; John H. Carroll, of Shoals; Herman Carroll, of Marshall, Ill; Porter Carroll, of Knightstown, Ind., and Mrs. Grace Howard, of Indianapolis.
