"George W Carroll of 420 Walnut Ave, Greensburg, died Sunday morning in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born in Uniontown, Jan 25, 1893, he was the son of the late David N and Ada Chisnell Carroll. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg and its Methodist Men. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of the Merion Lodge 563, F&AM, of Scottdale, Kiwanis International, the IOOF, Toastmasters International and BPOE Lodge 511. He was founder of the Zipp R-me Chemical Co of Greensburg and formerly had the Studebaker and Hudson automobile agencies in Scottdale and Greensburg. He was the owner of the Carroll Real Estate Company of Greensburg. Surviving are his widow, Frances Snyder Carroll; two sons, George W of Ligonier and Francis W of Greensburg; two daughters, Mrs William (Betty) Portzer of Greensburg and Mrs Robert (Louise) Wilson of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Charles B of Sarasota, Fla, Elmer E of Winter Park, Fla, David N of Greensburg, RD, and Mrs Mabel Steigner and Mrs Ada Stillman, both of Pittsburgh."
