"Ada C Stillman, 92, formerly of Spartansburg, RD 2, died on Monday, Feb 19, 1996, at the Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville where she had been a resident since 1990. She was born in Scottdale, Westmoreland County, on Sept 10, 1903, a daughter of David and Ada Chisnell Carroll. Mrs Stillman was raised in Scottdale and graduated from Scottdale High School. She later attended the California State Normal School (now California University of Pennsylvania) and taught school in Fayette County for a short time. She later worked for the William Renton Co in Pittsburgh for over 10 years, retiring in the early 1960s. In the early 1970s, she moved to Spartansburg where she resided near her niece, Mrs Arthur (Renae) Burlingame. She was a member of the Spartansburg United Methodist Church, a member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Roosevelt Chapter in Pittsburgh, and a member of the Senior Citizens Group of Spartansburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stillman, in 1965; three sisters, Mabel I Steigner, Edith May Provins and Margaret S Blakeslee; and five brothers, Charles B, George W, Lyman P, Elmer E and David N Carroll. Mrs Stillman is survived by two sons, Glenn B Morris of New Wilmington and Nevin E Morris of West Chester; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces including Mrs Burlingame; and numerous great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call at the Bracken Funeral Home in Spartansburg...until the time of the funeral service there at 11 am (tomorrow). The Reverend Russell D Hines, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Corry, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Scottdale Cemetery, Scottdale..."
