William C. Collins, farmer and life-long resident of this county, died last night at 10:45 o'clock at his home in Harrison township, eight miles west of this city. He was 83 years old and his death was due to ailments attendant to old age and followed a several weeks illness. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the South Bethany Christian church with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Collins was born and reared in the vicinity where he died and was well known there. He was a farmer throughout his life, retiring from that occupation some years ago. He was a member of the South Bethany church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William Laporte, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Davis Rambo, of Harrison township; Miss May Collins, at home; four sons, Martin and Andrew Collins at home; Daniel Collins, of North Vernon; Alonzo Collins of Topeka, Indiana; five grandchildren; one half -sister, Mrs. Mary McClellan, of Indianapolis; two brother, A. R. Collins, of Elwood, and A. M. Collins, of Austin.
