Lydia, a daughter of John and Katherine Sayler Pfeifle, was 90 years old when she died at the Eagle Point Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Iowa. On December 3, 1939, she married Alex Galusha in Ashley, North Dakota, where she had attended school as a child. Lydia, a homemaker, was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton and was active with the Ladies Aid.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in 1963, and eight siblings. She was survived by five daughters; one brother; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. The pallbearers at her funeral service consisted of eleven of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
