James Bedford Sipes was the first born son of George Debnon Sipes and Dealie Ethyl (Sexton) Sipes. James was born in Bennington, Oklahoma but spent many years in south Texas and New Mexico. James worked in a chemical plant in Freeport, Texas before moving to Lovington, NM where he worked in the oilfields. James was married three times with his wives as follows:
Wife # 1
Sadie(Swinford)Sipes b. 12/09/1911 died 06/22/1952 Sadie was involved in a car accident along with Uncle James and she lost her life. Uncle James was severely injured in the accident and was unable to attend her funeral. The one photo shows Uncle James while he was recovering from the accident and still requiring crutches.

Uncle James had been having health problems and also had just lost his third wife. He took his own life shortly after burying his wife Lena. James died in Healdton. Oklahoma. Uncle James was a character and a lot of fun to be around. He had his share of heartaches in life and hopefully has gone on to a greater reward.
