Daughter of Frances K.Flake & Otha L. Hayslip, She was a History major, receiving her B.S. and M.S.degrees from Converse College, cum laude. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and recipient of the American Legion Award when she graduated from Converse. She taught at Greer Middle School for 18 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg and active in the Shepard Center. Survivors include three sons, Lewis W.Foster,III of Greenville,SC, Gerald W.Foster of McCleary, Wash., and Gilbert N.Foster of Charlotte,NC.: two daughters, Julia F. Campbell of Woodruff and Mary Frances F.White of Spartanburg,SC: three Sisters, Glenice Holmes of Spartanburg,SC, Frances Sperry of New Orleans,La.and Martha Bolus of Charleston,SC; one brother, Clifford Hayslip of Spartanburg,SC and seven grandchildren.

Services held 11 AM Wednesday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by Dr. Todd B Jones, Dr. George L.McGill, and Dr. James E.Fogartie. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg,SC.

The family is at the home.
