Isom William Salyers, age 91, of Beech Branch Rd, Elliott County, Ky., passed away Thursday morning, March 08, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Salyers was born May 18, 1920, in Elliott County, Ky., a son of the late Marion and Lizzie Ison Salyers.
Isom was a retired farmer and attended the Walnut Grove Tabernacle.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sons, Robert Salyers, Roger Salyers, and David Salyers, one brother, Tom Salyers, one sister, Edith Salyers.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-years, Mary Eldridge Salyers, four sons and daughters in-law, William "Bill" and Betty Salyers, Amos and Norma Salyers, Jeff and Charolette Salyers, and Johnny Salyers all of Sandy Hook, Ky., six daughters and sons in-law, Shirley and Rudy Whitt of Columbus, OH., Myrtle and Randy Quesinberry of Morehead, Ky., Betty Sue Maxie of Sandy Hook, Ky., Dorothy Barker of Morehead, Ky., Gretta and Junior Miller of Olive Hill, Ky., and Nancy and Terry Berry of Denton, Ky., four brothers, Edwin Salyers of Jackson, OH., Samuel Salyers of Dayton, OH., Edgar Salyers of Missourri, and John Salyers of Columbus, OH., one sister, Ruth Cooper of West Union, OH., forty-two grandchildren, fifty-two great- grandchildren, and twenty one great-great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home, with Bro. John Horton and Bro. Scott Litton officiating. Burial will follow in the Salyers Cemetery on Beech Branch.
Friends may visit after 5 p.m Saturday, March 10, 2012, and after 9 a.m Sunday until the service hour at the funeral home.
John Hall, Junior "June Bug" Miller, Michael Miller, Anthony Fletcher, Randy Quesinberry, Jeff Littleton, Johnny Salyers Jr., Gary Adkins, and Terry Berry will serve as pallbearers.
