Robert J Schuler, 78, of 100 N. Madison St, Rome, died Friday, Feb 2, 2001, in Rome Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born on March 19, 1924, in Rome, the son of Carl and Ellen Tyrrell Schuler. He was a 1942 graduate of Rome Free Academy.
Bob was retired from Revere Copper and Brass. He was active parishioner of St Mary's Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and a Eucharistic minister for sick and homebound persons.
He was a volunteer for may years at Rome Hospital and Rome DDSO O'Shea Day Treatment Center. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council No. 391 and the Rome Moose Lodge.
Bob will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family, friends, and his faith.
Surviving are three sisters, Rosemary Beck, Rita Barry, and Mrs Samuel (Doris) Donahue, all of Rome; snd several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by five sisters, Lauretta Nelson, Marien Bacon, Kathleen Schuler, Nora Schuler, and Margaret Thorpe; and three brothers, Philip Schuler, John Schuler, and William Schuler.
Funeral services at Barry Funeral Home with a Mass from St Mary's with interment at St Mary's Cemetery.
