Rosemary Schuler Beck, 86, of Lake Delta, died Sunday, September 10, 2006, in Bethany Gardens after a long illness. She was born April 4, 1920 in Rome, a daughter of Carl and Ellen Tyrrell Schuler. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1939 and worked at General Cable Corp. From 1944-46 she worked for the U.S. Government in Honolulu, Hawaii. Rosemary married George W. Beck on May 22, 1948. He died on March 4, 1990. She worked for many years as secretary and treasurer for her husband's business, Beck Vault Co., but her most important occupation was caring for her family. She was a founding member of the Lake Delta Home Bureau and devoted many hours of service to the Rome Hospital snack bar as a member of the Palm Twig. She served for many years as secretary/treasurer of the New York State Burial Vault Association. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Rosemary is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Homan of the Town of Lee; two sons, Paul Beck and Peter Beck, both of Rome; a granddaughter and her husband, Kelly and Dennis Rodoski of Liverpool; a grandson, William Homan of New York City; a great-granddaughter, Madeleine Rodoski of Liverpool; two sisters, Rita Barry and Mrs. Samuel (Doris) Donohue, both of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; a granddaughter, Karen Homan; a son-in-law, Donald Homan Jr.; five sisters, Lauretta Nelson, Marien Bacon, Kathleen Schuler, Nora Schuler and Margaret Thorpe; and four brothers, Philip Schuler, John Schuler, William Schuler and Robert Schuler.
