Obituary Of The Late Mrs. Jacob Van Wyhe
Mrs. Jacob Van Wyhe (nee Margaret Van Maanen) passed away on Thursday, June 15, 1950.
She was born April 11, 1877, in Gelderland, Netherlands, and came to this country in 1892, with her parents, settling in Sioux County.
She was married to Mr. Jacob Van Wyhe on March 4; 1896. Her husband preceded her in death on December 10, 1938.
Fifteen children survive.
They are: John (at home); Henrietta (Mrs. Dick Kruizenga), from Clinton, Wisconsin; Gerrit of Rock Rapids; Jennie (Mrs. Bert Franken), Hawarden; Henry, Flat Rock, Michigan; Jake, Lansing, Michigan; Dick, Clinton, Wisconsin; Jeanette (Mrs: Jake D. Sneller), Sheldon; William, Hull; Edward, Hull; Lee, Kansas City, Missouri; Christine (Mrs. C. Heimstra), of Sioux Center; Arthur, Sioux Center; Ben, Clinton, Wisconsin; and Gertrude (Mrs. G. Van Otterloo), Sioux Center.
Also 41 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive. She is further survived by her stepmother, Mrs. De Leeuw, Rock Valley, and six sisters and four brothers.
One sister and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Christian Reformed Church of Hull, with the Rev. Breuker from Sioux Center officiating in the absence of the pastor, Rev. Hanenburg. Interment was in Hope cemetery.
