Annie Kooima, 75, of Rock Valley died Friday morning at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in First Christian Reformed Church at Rock Valley The Rev. Roger Bultman officiated. Burial was at the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley. Visitation was held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Porter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kooima, the former Annie Van Maanen, was born on July 28, 1907, at rural Rock Valley, she married Simon T.H. Kooima in Rock Valley on April 24, 1925. They farmed in the Rock Valley area. He died on Jan. 23, 1978. She moved to the Rock Valley nursing home in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Gerrit and Tom, both of rural Rock Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Elsiena) Driesen of Marcus and Mrs. Jim (Janet) Van Bochove of Plattsmouth, Neb,; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Baartman of Rock Valley; 19 grand-children 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
