Isabella McCune Fullerton was born at Scott's Spring, Missouri and lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of Robert Fullerton and Jane Scott. Robert, along with Jane Scott's father, John, founded the Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1819. The first meetings were held in their home at Scott's Spring. In 1823 the church was moved to the present location. The present building was erected in 1867. Both Robert Fullerton and wife and John Scott and wife, Nancy, are buried in the old Scott's Spring burial ground.
Isabella married William Hugh Smith on January 16, 1850. They made their home on the old Fullerton home place where Isabella was born.
Mary Oldfield, a neighbor, deeded to Isabella M. Smith and Mary E. Fisher, Isabella's sister,"all of one half of an acre out of and part of the North West quarter...North end of the South half of the North West quarter of Section 2 in Township 52, North range 2 west."The said one half acres hereby conveyed to embrace and include what is known as the grave yard near Scott's Spring."
After Isabella's death her husand, William, sold the old Fullerton farm.
