Mrs. Nancy Carol Potter Jackson, age 70, of Lexington, Indiana near Chelsea, entered into this life on February 6, 1942 in downtown Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Thomas C. and Frances Reed Potter. She was raised in Madison and had resided in the Chelsea community for 53 years. Carol was united in marriage on July 25, 1959 to Terry Michael Jackson at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Madison. This happy union was blessed with one daughter, Cari Lynn and one son, David. Carol enjoyed being a farmer's wife and working for the Southwestern Elementary School in the cafeteria for ten years. She also treasured being able to babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol enjoyed watching soap operas, reading books, her cats and collecting angels. She was raised in the St. John's United Church of God and had attended the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Carol passed away tragically on Friday, March 2, 2012 with her beloved husband, Terry and her great grandchild, Daylynn Terry Jackson, from injuries sustained in the Tornado that struck their home.
Nancy will be missed by her loving daughter: Cari Lynn Jackson of Lexington, Indiana; her loving son: David M. Jackson & his wife, Rebecca of Dillsboro, Indiana; her loving brother: Thomas Arthur Potter & his wife, Becky of Jacksonville, Florida; her loving sister: Teri Bentz & her husband, Greg of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren: Amanda Jackson & her companion, Greg; Beau Jackson, Samantha Jackson & fiancée, Mark Corbin; her great grandchildren: Ashlynn Elizabeth, Cortlynn Allison, Raylynn Joe, Hayden Anthony & Lukas David; her step grandchildren: Anthony & Wyatt Yelton; her great granddaughter: Ava Yelton; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Frances Reed Potter; her husband, Terry Michael Jackson, died, March 2, 2012; her great grandson, Daylynn Terry Jackson died, March 2, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Charlot Nash, at the North Madison Christian Church, 1400 East State Road 62 in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery near Chelsea, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Daylynn Terry Jackson Memorial Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
